It's been a while since I last posted here, but, with only 5 months away from graduating with a degree in BA Animation I can look back and say I've learnt a lot. My course is not perfect, but the tutors listen, are supportive and have a lot of knowledge and connections they are happy to share. The friends I've made on this course are incredibly talented individuals and I can't wait to see where they go next.

I may post tutorials for animation if anyone's interested? Any particular topic you'd want to see?

The end of the beginning

Yesterday I officially left college! It was fantastic to be able to walk out of the building with the knowledge that I'd done the best I could and wouldn't have to go back except to collect my results in August and then my work later on :)

Finally here are my finished pieces for graphics and textiles

With close ups on my final pieces

May Half Term update

Things have been crazy busy as I'm in the middle of my A2 Art exams and feeling very tired. I only have an evaluation and a few pieces of annotation for Textiles to complete before I'll be done but A2 graphics is dragging me down a little as in my attempt to get an A for Graphic Design I started a second book and a third design for a film poster which needs to be ready to print and cut by monday/tuesday!

Here's a (very small) sneak peek of my poster design for UP by Pixar animation...

A packet of  party rings helped me get through my graphics exams. Unfortunately, this poster took 4 hours to cut out - I booked a whole day of graphics exams (5 hours - 3 in the morning and two for the afternoon) and almost a week later there's still some tenderness in my hand!

Remember to take regular breaks when doing cut paper (and art in general) doing things like this can lead to pulling a muscle and stiffness/soreness in the used area. In more severe cases through continued use of these muscles without regular breaks can cause Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which is very serious and can stop you from doing what you love for a long time while you recover!

The end is in sight!

A Level art exams update

IThings have been rather hectic for the past few weeks and my schedule has been all over the place! So here's just a few things I managed to photograph of my projects before I rushed off to complete my next task!
Cut paper ursula from disobeys the little mermaid!
Smocking. Lots of Smocking.
So much cut paper it hurts
And many for everything! Seriously you can never have enough!

Good luck with your exams an update the week after next with how mine went and PICTURES!

DIY Blog

I've been thinking about this for a while, and as Indecisive Student is going to be redundant pretty soon (as I've made my decision and chosen to study animation at University!) I was thinking of turning this into a DIY/Animation blog?

I've learnt plenty of cool stuff at college that I'd like to share and I'm sure I'll learn even MORE cool stuff at University which I'm thinking of posting here.

Good idea? Bad idea?

It wont be long until exams are over, so good luck!

Katherine :)
